Isla Mujeres

In Mexico, whale sharks can be spotted near Isla Mujeres, which literally means Women Island. There are some good restaurants next to the ocean, where you can dine on some fresh seafood.

The top of the dock gives you a glimpse of what you might see on the voyage ahead. Sharks, saw fish, yellow fish, rainbow fish, unicorns and such.

Even though their massive size, they are feed on plankton which include small copepods, krill, fish eggs, crab larvae etc. They don't have big sharp teeth but are rather filter feeder, so they let water in through their mouth and it gets filtered out leaving all it's delicious tiny food inside
