Having been one of the two capitals of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and it's long history, Budapest boosts of some impressive architecture. Western Buda, northern Óbuda and eastern Pest areas were combined in 1873 to form today's Budapest.

Going up the stairs is a surreal experience, you are surrounded by clean white marble on all sides.

The castle wall was protected by the fishermen's guild in the Middle Ages, hence the name Fisherman's Bastion.

It has many viewpoints and pathways to roam around. Despite being such a beautiful area, I was surprised that it wasn't as famous as other places in Europe.

There are stairs in every direction to get down, each one made with an immense attention to detail

Vajdahunyad Castle

On the Pest side, next to the Hero's square, there is the Vajdahunyad Castle that displays the elaborate Hungarian design style with large gardens and finely detailed construction

This tower next to the castle had a very unique shape and roof.

Budapest is also know for it's ruin bars and massive thermal baths. Ruin bars are big buildings that well got ruined and now it's just filled with a lot of bars You always find a very young crowd there and the local companies seem to be running with it.

The spa and bath culture really flourished during the Austro Hungarian times. Hence there are a lot of baths here. Széchenyi Thermal Bath is probably one of the biggest baths in Europe Couldn't get a good picture in there, so here is one from wikipedia under CC

Overall Budapest is a fun and vibrant city to check out. Everyone seems warm and funny. You can also try and learn to play nature's piano on the roadside
